how we work

Saoirse Waldorf School, trading as Dublin Steiner School, is a company limited by guarantee and registered charity. Our charity number is 20077181. We are run entirely on a non-profit basis.

THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The board of trustees is the governing body of the school, with responsibility for the oversight of Dublin Steiner School as a charitable organisation. The board’s primary role is to act in the best interests of the school and to safeguard the school’s purpose, which is to deliver Waldorf education to children. Trustees are unpaid and work on a voluntary basis.

You can find more information on the role of a charity board here.

what do the trustees do?

Collectively, the trustees are responsible for:

  • Setting overall strategy, with the aim of continuing the growth of the school and guarding against risk
  • Ensuring that the school complies with all relevant legislation
  • School finances and fundraising
  • Developing the school building and facilities
  • Strengthening the community of school families

While the board makes decisions collaboratively, individual trustees take responsibility for different functions depending on their experience and skills.
